The Club:
In 2021, the MLB team formerly known as the Cleveland Indians rebranded as the Cleveland Guardians. The new identity drew inspiration from Cleveland’s iconic ‘Guardians of Traffic’ statues—Art Deco figures on the Hope Memorial Bridge symbolizing progress, strength, and the city’s industrial heritage—honoring the team’s history while reflecting its new name.
The Job:
I was tasked with designing the Cleveland Guardians’ 2025 uniforms with the directive of creating a “timeless baseball look” while preserving the team’s identity. Drawing from the Guardians’ 1970s aesthetic, the kit modernizes classic details with bold sleeve piping and introduces a new navy jersey featuring a single “C” on the chest—a subtle yet distinctive element that feels both fresh and enduring. The full kit balances heritage and modernity, honoring tradition while presenting a refined look built for today’s game.
